What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact Form

Through the contact form, we may collect your name, email address, and specific request.

The information received from the contact form will be used only to address your request and respond to your needs. The information may be shared with Move Forward collaborators to analyze your request in more detail.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you can opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

When you visit the login page, we’ll set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

Once you are logged in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. These cookies will be deleted if you log out of your account.

When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not include any personal data; it simply indicates the post ID you have just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded Content from other sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly the same as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, incorporate additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to those websites.

Analytics

On this site, we use Google Analytics to analyze user behavior on our website.

With Whom We Share Your Data

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except as necessary to respond to your requests or as required by law.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and automatically approve any subsequent comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our site (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username, which cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

Your rights

If you request a file export of your personal data or ask us to delete your personal data, we will do so as required, except for data we are obligated to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where We Send Your Data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
